How I Prepared for my Award Winning Artists Open House
I opened my home for my first ever solo exhibition as part of the Brighton Artists Open Houses in 2020. I say, I opened my home but, due to the COVID situation, my exhibition was online with people visiting through Zoom calls. While that online event was a great success, it did create a longing for a real life face to face event. So, in January this year, I signed up to Brighton Artists Open Houses 2021. Artist Faye Bridgwater follows on from her Derwent Art and John Purcell Paper prizes by winning Artist Of The Year at the ever popular Brighton Artists Open House awards. Bridgwater who opened her own studio for the very first time says “I was delighted to meet so many people interested in my work and to sell virtually all of my paintings on show. Winning this award was the icing on the cake on what has been a very creatively challenging 18 months.”
