Hello!
Artists Open Houses begins this weekend, and I would love to welcome you into my home and studio. The walls are full of my new collection, the studio is open (people love it in there), the Sketch Squares are packed, and everything is ready for three brilliant weekends of visitors, chats, art and colour.
Whether you’re planning a gentle browse, bringing a friend or making a proper Brighton day of it, here’s everything you need to know…
Top 10 Tips For Visiting My Open House
1. Find Me Easily
Just type “Faye Bridgwater” into Google Maps and save me as a favourites. Or you can click this link.
2. Parking - Bring the Brighton parking app.
You can download it from the PayByPhone website. There’s usually plenty of space outside my house but just remember to park in one of the bays marked “Pay By Phone” and use parking code 801773 on the app—as nothing ruins a lovely visit like a ticket!
3. Arriving by train or bus
The closest bus stops are at the top and bottom of the road:
• Top: 18 & 21
• Bottom: 2
The 18 comes from Brighton Station — it loops around the city so you get a scenic ride.
4. Walking? Expect a hill or two
It’s Brighton! But it’s only a 15-minute stroll from the seafront, so it’s a lovely way to arrive.
5. Payment options
Cash, card or bank transfer — whatever suits you.
6. Can’t make the weekend dates?
You’re welcome to book a private weekday appointment if that’s easier. Just email me at faye@fayebridgwater.com.
7. What’s on show
My new collection of original paintings, limited edition prints, greetings cards, and of course Sketch Squares.
8. Need a food stop?
I recommend Starfish & Coffee (excellent brunch).
Or head towards the sea for Temple, a brilliant new coffee shop with great sea views.
9. Other artists & local stops
Debbie Lawrence is open just minutes up the road. There’s also a lovely park nearby, which is perfect for kids who need a run around.
10. Dogs welcome
Well-behaved four-legged friends are absolutely welcome.
Bonus Tips
How long should I allow?
Most people stay 20–40 minutes, longer if we get chatting (highly likely).
Bringing children?
They’re very welcome. I’ll have Sketch Squares out for them to play with, plus some colouring-in bits to keep small hands busy while you have a wander. And if they need a run around afterwards, the nearby park is perfect.
Accessibility
There are a few steps up to the house and down to the studio. If this might be tricky, let me know ahead of time and I’ll help.
When is it quietest?
The first hour and late afternoons are usually the calmest.
The studio is open!
And people love it. Step inside, see where I paint, look at the colours, tools, brushes and works-in-progress. It’s a proper peek behind the scenes.
Collecting work
All paintings will be delivered after the final weekend, or you can collect if you prefer.
